As the year concludes, we reflect on the data surrounding women's progress in 2025. The findings reveal both significant strides and persistent challenges.
Pay Gap: Women earned 85% of what men earned in 2024, with the gap widening for two consecutive years for the first time in over 60 years. Over a career, women lose $462,000 compared to men, with women of color losing over $1 million, reports the AAUW.
Political Leadership: Women comprise just 27.2% of global parliamentarians and 22.9% of cabinet ministers, with 106 countries never having had a woman leader. The U.S. Senate reached a record high for women in 2025.
Corporate Leadership: Women hold 29% of C-suite roles, up from 17% in 2015, but only 7% of these positions go to women of color.
Technology: Women earn just 21.3% of computer science degrees and hold under a third of leadership roles globally.
Economic Security: Ten percent of women live in extreme poverty, unchanged since 2020, with 351 million projected to remain trapped in poverty by 2030.
Timeline: At the current pace, gender parity won't be reached for 134 years—around 2158.

Thinking about an exit? Wanna sell your business by 2028? Experts recommend starting your preparation 18-24 months before going to market, and here are some critical steps to take:
Get your financials in order. Gather at least three years of tax returns, pull bank statements, and create a detailed inventory list. Clean books build buyer confidence and support a stronger valuation.
Assemble your advisory team. Beyond your regular accountant and lawyer, consider bringing in a business broker and transaction specialists to guide you through the process and minimize costly errors.
Plan for the timeline. Most business sales take 6-12 months to complete from start to finish, so factor in preparation time and don't wait until the last minute to begin the process.
